Electroforming & Electroplating

If you have been browsing our website, you probably read a small paragraph where I mentioned learning electroforming and electroplating. This is where you can follow my learning process. I will go through the trial and error and will share any tips and tricks to a smooth process, if you are interested in learning how it works or are planning to try for yourself.

5 amp DC power supply (rectifier) & a 500 ml beaker with a copper anode.
Conductive paint
Liquid latex to protect gemstones from plating solutions
Fine paintbrushes for detailed covering of conductive paint and liquid latex
Electroforming copper solution

My first se of rings. I used E6000 glue to glue the gemstones to the copper wire. Let it cure for 24 hours and pained conductive paint where I think it would hold best. Next step will be to cover the gemstones with liquid latex and prepare the rectifier and electroforming bath. I will be using the 500ml beaker with a copper coil-like anode as shown in the very first picture.
